"Hi,
I am the owner of Margaret, a 8M designed by Anker in 1926. Baat n.300. Sail
number K-4. I found the boat in France some months ago and I brought down to
Italy to do some restoration. The boat has a pretty good shape hull but
needs a complete re-rigging since she now has an aluminum mast and boom. I found
several pictures of Margaret in the Beken of Cowes archives. Margaret spent most
of her life in the Clyde close to Glasgow and she was owned by the Ballantine
family (the whisky producers). I found the original drawings of Margaret in the
Oslo Maritime Museum.
I am now studying the original plan and see how I can do the modifications to
the boat. I don't have any information about the interiors of the boat as well
as about the hardware that was used on the boat. It could be very useful to me
if you could provide some picture of your boat as well as information that could
help me to do a philologiocal restoration to bring Margaret back to the original
Anker's drawings. Thanks.
Regards
